Description

White Buffalo 4 Stone Adjustable Ring

Four oval White Buffalo stone cabochons set in a vertical column that runs nearly the full length of a finger joint — the tallest, most architecturally ambitious, and most stone-intensive ring in the collection. White Buffalo is not turquoise. It is a rare Nevada stone — white to cream in base color with bold black matrix inclusions — that shares the Southwestern silversmithing tradition of turquoise without sharing its mineral composition or its blue-green color. Each of the four stones has its own individual plain flat bezel and its own distinct natural matrix pattern: some bold black patches, some diagonal black streaking, some a mix of both, none identical to the others. Between each stone, paired silver ball beads punctuate the junction left and right, creating a rhythmic three-point accent that holds the column together visually as four related stones rather than four separate elements. The band is open-back adjustable — the only adjustable ring in the collection — which means sizing is not fixed: the band can be gently adjusted to fit a range of finger sizes, removing the sizing risk that applies to every other ring in the catalog. Please note that stone color and matrix will vary from piece to piece — each ring is one of a kind.

What is White Buffalo Stone?
White Buffalo is a rare semi-precious stone mined in Mineral County, Nevada — the same region that produces some of the most prized turquoise in the world. It is composed primarily of magnesite or calcite with black matrix inclusions, and it is sometimes marketed as “White Turquoise,” but it is not turquoise by mineral composition. Its value comes from its rarity, its striking white-and-black color contrast, and its place within the authentic Southwestern stone-and-silver tradition. Authentic White Buffalo is harder to source and more expensive per carat than most commercial turquoise, which is reflected in its position as the highest-priced ring in this collection.

Key Details

  • Stone | White Buffalo | Four Oval Cabochons | Bright White to Warm Cream Base Color | Bold Black Matrix — Patches, Diagonal Streaking, and Mixed Patterns Vary by Stone | No Two Stones Identical | Not Turquoise — Separate Mineral Species (Magnesite / Calcite with Black Matrix) | Rare Nevada Stone | Most Stone-Intensive Ring in the Collection | Natural Stones — Color and Matrix Vary Per Piece | Each Ring One of a Kind | Authentic Natural Stone
  • Setting | Four Individual Plain Flat Bezels — One Per Stone | Stones Stacked in a Straight Vertical Column from Top to Base of Finger | Paired Silver Ball Bead Accents at Each Stone-to-Stone Junction — Two Ball Beads Per Junction × Three Junctions = Six Total Ball Bead Accents | Same Ball Bead Accent Detail as 2-Stone Flower Ring — Here Applied at Three Junction Points Across Four Stones
  • Band | Open-Back Adjustable Band | Not a Fixed Closed Ring | Band Rails Extend from Setting Base Without Closing | Can Be Gently Squeezed or Opened to Fit a Range of Finger Sizes | Only Adjustable Ring in the Collection
  • Metal | Sterling Silver | Oxidized / Antiqued Finish on Setting — Darkened Silver in the Recesses Between Bezels and Ball Beads Adds Depth and Contrast Against the White Stones
  • Size | Adjustable | No Fixed Size | Fits Approximately Size 6–9 Depending on Band Adjustment | Open-Back Band — Gently Bend to Fit | See Fit & Sizing Section Below
  • Scale | Four-Stone Column Approximately ¾ Inch Tall | Tallest Setting in the Ring Collection | Covers Nearly the Full Length of a Finger Joint When Worn | Each Individual Stone Approximately ⅛ Inch Tall
  • Care Instructions | Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight | Avoid contact with water, perfume, and lotions | Polish gently with a soft silver cloth on the band | Use a soft-bristle brush to gently clean the ball bead accents and bezel recesses if tarnish accumulates | Avoid harsh chemicals on the White Buffalo stones | Do not over-bend the adjustable band — repeated bending can stress sterling silver; adjust to fit once and wear without further adjustment when possible

Styling Suggestions

  • Wear as the centerpiece of any look — the four-stone vertical column in white-and-black covers nearly a full finger joint and creates a presence that no single-stone ring in the collection can match; this ring does not need companions, stacking partners, or supporting pieces to make a statement
  • Style with all-black or monochromatic dark outfits — the bright white stones and bold black matrix read most vividly against dark backgrounds, where the column of White Buffalo cabochons creates a graphic, high-contrast vertical element on the hand
  • Wear with crisp white, cream, or ivory — the warm cream undertone of the White Buffalo stones harmonizes beautifully with clean white and cream fabrics, and the bold black matrix creates a natural print-like detail that echoes black-and-white textiles
  • Style with warm camel, tan, or natural leather — the white-and-black stone column against a warm neutral ground creates the same sun-bleached, high-desert color palette that defines Southwestern style at its most sophisticated
  • Wear on the index finger of the right hand where the full vertical length of the four-stone column is visible from the front and the side — the scale of this ring is most legible on a finger that is fully extended and visible, not tucked into a fist
  • Gift as the statement piece for a serious Southwestern jewelry collector — White Buffalo stone is less commonly found in production jewelry than turquoise, and a four-stone vertically stacked adjustable ring in authenticated White Buffalo is the kind of piece that collectors recognize immediately as something beyond a standard catalog offering
  • Wear to an event rather than as an everyday ring — the scale, the stone rarity, and the price point place this ring in a different category than the everyday-wear pieces in the collection; it is best suited for occasions where the ring can be seen and appreciated

Fit & Sizing

  • Adjustable | No fixed size | Open-back band fits approximately Size 6–9 depending on adjustment
  • To wear: slide the ring onto your finger and gently press the band rails inward until the ring sits snugly | To remove: gently pull the band rails outward and slide off
  • Do not over-bend — sterling silver can be adjusted multiple times but repeated aggressive bending will eventually stress the metal at the band | Adjust to your preferred fit and wear without further adjustment when possible
  • The four-stone vertical column extends approximately ¾ inch above the finger | When worn, the column runs from approximately the base of the top finger joint to the base of the middle joint | Wear on a finger where this length is comfortable and not obstructed by other rings or knuckle movement
  • If you are between sizes: because the band is adjustable, standard half- and quarter-size concerns do not apply | Fit to comfort rather than to a specific size measurement
